As several of the programs can now boast of 50+ years of service, our community has had many opportunities to share the life-altering contributions that TRIO has made in the lives of low-income, first-generation students. COE encourages all TRIO programs to commemorate such a milestone by organizing events, reaching out to alumni, publishing stories and op-eds, and using social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of each 50th Anniversary celebration, COE hosts a national student video competition that highlights the impact of TRIO on students, schools, communities, and families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talent Search celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2015. Student creators of the winning videos were honored during the Opening Session at COE\u2019s 34th Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA. The second-place video, \u201cTalent Search 50th Anniversary Celebration\u2014University of Pennsylvania\u201d was created by two students at the University of Pennsylvania. The winners were two sisters from the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation who submitted a video entitled \u201cThe Lombard Family: A TRIO Talent Search Success Story.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Lombard Family: A Trio Talent Search Success Story\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6f8eGCjRZmw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Noteworthy Talent Search Alumni<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Henry Bonilla, U.S. House of Representatives, Texas \u2014 23rd District (1993 to 2007), Partner, The Normandy Group, Talent Search, Project Stay, Inc.<\/li><li>Darcel D.
